Tamiya 1/35 M47 Patton

Production of the M47 Patton began in 1951, succeeding its predecessor, the M46 Patton. It retained the hull from the M46 but was equipped with an 810hp gasoline engine, allowing for a top speed of 48km/h. Armed with an L/50 rifled gun and a stereoscopic rangefinder, it boasted advanced technology for its time. Over 8,500 M47 Pattons were manufactured, and although they had a relatively short service life with the U.S. military, they were supplied to friendly nations like France, Austria, and Germany. Germany received 1,100 units between 1956 and 1957, deploying them in tank battalions and mechanized infantry units. Often fitted with smoke dischargers and rain guards, the M47 served in the re-formed West German military.
